One ticket covers the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel on the day of issue. Full price is €20, plus a €5 fee for a skip-the-line booking on the official site. Closed on Sundays except the last Sunday of the month (free entry).

Opening hours
Mon–Sat 08:00–20:00 (final entry 18:00). Last Sunday of the month 09:00–14:00 (final entry 12:30, free). Closed other Sundays and on 1 & 6 Jan, 11 Feb, 19 Mar, 6 Apr, 1 May, 29 Jun, 14 & 15 Aug, 1 Nov, 8, 25 & 26 Dec (2026 calendar). Halls must be vacated 30 minutes before closing.

How to buy and use
- Book a dated time slot on tickets.museivaticani.va (skip-the-line, +€5 fee).
- Arrive at the entrance on Viale Vaticano and pass the metal-detector security check.
- Leave medium/large umbrellas, tripods and video cameras in the cloakroom.
Good to know
- Dress code: no sleeveless or low-cut tops, no shorts above the knee, no miniskirts, no hats.
- Photos for personal use are allowed everywhere except the Sistine Chapel; flash is forbidden.
- Free last-Sunday entry does not apply when that Sunday falls on Easter, 29 Jun, 25, 26 or 31 Dec.

Is the Sistine Chapel a separate ticket?
No. The Vatican Museums ticket includes the Sistine Chapel on the same day.
How much is the online booking fee?
€5 per full or reduced ticket booked on the official site (€2 for school and seminary tariffs).
Is it free on Sundays?
Only on the last Sunday of the month (09:00–14:00), subject to the closure calendar. Other Sundays are closed.
