Buying a local SIM

Prepaid SIMs are sold at Changi Airport, 7-Eleven and operator shops. You must show your original passport. Since 15 July 2024, passport-registered prepaid SIMs are valid for 30 days, and each person can hold at most three prepaid SIMs across all operators.

Weak-signal areas

Coverage is excellent island-wide, including MRT tunnels. Near the Johor causeway your phone may pick up Malaysian networks.
