Vietnam Pre-Arrival Declaration (PAI) & e-Visa
The old paper arrival card is gone, but since 2026 Vietnam has rolled out an online Pre-Arrival Information (PAI) declaration at its airports; submit it up to 3 days before landing and show the QR code. Korean passport holders can stay 45 days visa-free; longer stays need an e-visa.

Steps
- Open prearrival.immigration.gov.vn and choose 'Create & Submit Pre-arrival Information'.
- Enter personal, passport and visa (or visa-exemption) details.
- Enter your flight and travel details exactly as booked.
- Submit and save the QR code on your phone or print it.
- Show the QR code with your passport at immigration.

Watch out
- PAI started as a pilot in April 2026 and the airports covered and its mandatory status are still changing. Check your embassy notice before you fly.
- Wrong flight numbers were the most common error in the first rollout weeks; double-check them.
- Use only the .gov.vn address; lookalike sites may charge fees.
- Use 'Lookup & Update Declaration' to fix mistakes instead of starting over.

Steps
- Go to evisa.gov.vn (the only official e-visa portal).
- Fill in the application and upload a passport data-page image and a portrait photo.
- Choose single or multiple entry and pay online.
- Save the application code and check the result on the same site.
- Print or save the e-visa and carry it when you travel.

Watch out
- Many agency sites look official and charge far more than USD 25/50.
- E-visa holders must enter and exit through the international border gates designated by the government.

FAQ
Do I still fill in a paper arrival card for Vietnam?
No routine paper card. From 2026 the airports use the online PAI declaration; a paper version is only offered at the airport for those who could not submit online.
How long can Koreans stay without a visa?
45 days from entry, regardless of purpose, under Resolution 44/NQ-CP, in effect until 14 March 2028.
Which airports use PAI?
It started at Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City) on 15 April 2026 and expanded to Phu Quoc, Hanoi and Da Nang; the U.S. Embassy said in June 2026 it is being extended to all airports.
Is there a health declaration?
No separate health declaration requirement was confirmed on official sources as of September 2026.
