Japan Rail Pass 2026: prices, Nozomi ticket, how to buy
Nationwide JR pass for temporary visitors. Ordinary 7-day is ¥50,000 online; overseas-agency prices rise to ¥53,000 for purchases from 1 October 2026. Nozomi and Mizuho need an extra ticket.

How to buy and use
- Buy on the official JAPAN RAIL PASS Reservation site with a credit card in your name, entering passport number (up to 6 companions).
- Get a 'Temporary Visitor' stamp or sticker when entering Japan.
- Pick up the pass at a JR ticket office or designated machine with your passport.
- Buy a Nozomi/Mizuho ticket before boarding if you want those trains.
Good to know
- Buying online on the official site is cheaper than overseas agencies from 1 Oct 2026.
- Nozomi/Mizuho tickets cost ¥4,180 (Tokyo–Nagoya) to ¥6,500 (Tokyo–Hiroshima) and are sold from one month before boarding.
- Japanese citizens living abroad cannot buy it.
