Jeju Car Rental: Airport Pickup, Insurance and Rules
Most Jeju rentals start from the rental-car house outside Jeju Airport, where company shuttles take you to their lots. Check age and licence-history limits, and which damage cover (자차) you are buying, before you book.
Can you drive with a foreign licence?
You need a valid Korean driving licence for the car class. Minimum age and years of driving experience are set by each rental company, so check the terms before booking.

Where to pick up
At Jeju Airport, exit via gate 5 on the ground floor (1F). The rental-car house is on the way to the rental-car shuttle bus parking area; from there each company's shuttle takes you to its lot.
Insurance to check
- 자차 (own-vehicle damage cover) is sold in tiers such as regular, full and super cover. Names and limits differ by company.
- Check the deductible (면책금) and the 휴차보상료 (loss-of-use charge) you may still owe after an accident.
- Check whether tyres, wheels and single-vehicle accidents are covered.
Booking tips
- For an EV, ask about the charging card, connector type and the battery level you must return.
- Photograph every side of the car at pickup and at return.
- Allow extra time on return: you also need the shuttle back to the airport.
