Buying a local SIM

All SIMs, including prepaid tourist SIMs, must complete real-name registration before activation. Visitors can use a passport.

Weak-signal areas

Excellent in the city and MTR. Country-park trails and outlying islands can be weaker; the government runs a subsidy scheme to extend 5G to rural areas.
