Guam entry: G-CNMI ETA & customs form
South Korea is a Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program country. Koreans can visit Guam for up to 45 days with a G-CNMI ETA (required since 30 November 2024, replacing the paper I-736), or up to 90 days with an ESTA. Every arriving passenger must also complete the Guam Electronic Declaration Form (customs), available up to 72 hours before arrival.

- Who
- Citizens of G-CNMI VWP countries (Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Nauru, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, UK) travelling to Guam/CNMI for 45 days or less without a US visa. Not needed if you have a valid ESTA or US visa.
- When
- DHS recommends applying at least 5 days before travel, ideally before buying the ticket.
- Fee
- Free · The Federal Register rule (89 FR 3299) says no fee is required 'at this time'. The official G-CNMI ETA site's FAQ still contains fee text (US$4 + US$17); confirm the amount shown at payment.
- Validity
- Up to 2 years or until the passport expires. Each stay up to 45 days, limited to Guam and the CNMI.
- Processing
- A status is usually returned within 5 days; check it on the official G-CNMI ETA site.
Steps
- Decide between G-CNMI ETA (45 days, Guam/CNMI only) and ESTA (90 days, also valid for the US mainland).
- Open the official site g-cnmi-eta.cbp.dhs.gov.
- Create an individual or group application.
- Enter passport and travel details and answer the eligibility questions.
- Submit and note the application number.
- Check the status until it shows 'Authorization Approved'; printing is optional.

Watch out
- The paper I-736 is discontinued; since 30 November 2024 airlines require an approved G-CNMI ETA (or ESTA/visa).
- A G-CNMI ETA does not allow travel onward to Hawaii or the US mainland.
- Stays over 45 days need ESTA (up to 90 days) or a visa.
- Use only the official .cbp.dhs.gov site; agency sites add their own fees.

Steps
- Open the Guam Customs and Quarantine Agency site (cqa.guam.gov) and choose the Electronic Declaration Form link.
- Enter passport and flight details.
- Complete the customs declaration questions.
- Submit and save the QR code on your phone.
- Show the QR code to the customs officer at the airport.

FAQ
ESTA or G-CNMI ETA for Guam?
For a stay of 45 days or less in Guam/Saipan only, the G-CNMI ETA is enough. If you already have an ESTA, you can use it and stay up to 90 days.
Can I still use the paper I-736 form?
No. It was discontinued; since 30 November 2024 an approved G-CNMI ETA (or ESTA/US visa) is required before boarding.
Is the Guam customs form (EDF) still required?
Yes. It is mandatory for all arriving passengers and is done electronically, up to 72 hours before arrival.
